These instructions assume that you've have installed Apple iOS 7 or greater on an iPad Air 2. Ensure you have version 1.14 or greater of the Jabra Solemate Mini firmware, visit the official Jabra Solemate Mini support site [2] to download the latest version. You can switch off the default 'Connected' and other announcements by holding down the Volume down button when turning on the Jabra Solemate Mini until you hear 'Sound prompts off'.

  1. Follow these steps to pair the Jabra Solemate Mini with an iPad Air 2. With the Jabra Solemate Mini turned on press and hold the middle Answer / End button on top of the device for four seconds until the Bluetooth light on the right hand side starts flashing.
  2. Wait until you hear the 'Go ahead and connect me. Use the Bluetooth setting on your phone' announcement.
  3. From the home screen on an iPad Air 2 choose the Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and turn on the Bluetooth option.
  4. Underneath select Jabra Solemate Mini from the list of nearby devices to pair with the iPad, it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
  5. The Jabra Solemate Mini and the iPad Air 2 are paired and ready to be used to play music. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application on the tablet that plays audio will bring up a list of devices where you will be able to toggle between headphones, the loudspeaker and the Jabra Solemate Mini. To connect an iPad Air 2 to the Jabra Solemate Mini the correct cable to use to connect an iPad Air 2 to the Jabra Solemate Mini.

  1. These instructions show you how to connect an iPad Air 2 to the Jabra Solemate Mini using a cable to play music. Firstly locate the headphone socket on the top of the iPad.
  2. With the speaker turned off locate the line in port on the Jabra Solemate Mini. This can be located on the right of the speaker below the power switch.
  3. Connect the headphone socket on the iPad Air 2 to the line in on the Jabra Solemate Mini port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [3].
  4. From now on any audio from the iPad will stop playing on the speaker and play on the Jabra Solemate Mini instead.
  5. When the line in port is used the Bluetooth facility will be disabled, you'll hear a "Bluetooth off" announcement and you'll only be able to listen to audio from an iPad Air 2.
  6. The Jabra Solemate Mini and the iPad Air 2 are now connected and ready to be used to play audio. [AD]
