These instructions assume that you've have installed Apple iOS 7 or greater on an iPad Air 2. The following list of instructions show you how to connect to Beats Pill 2 speakers to your iPad Air 2. Note that these instructions refer to the Beats Pill 2 and not the original Beats Pill first generation, visit the Beats page for the full range of Beats bluetooth speakers. - Follow these steps to pair a Beats Pill with an iPad Air 2. First you will need to turn on the Beats Pill by holding the power button, you'll find the power button located the top of the Beats Pill. Then press the 'b' for 3 seconds until the Bluetooth LED located on the back of the Pill quickly flashes white. This indicates that the Beats Pill is in pairing mode.
- From the home screen on the phone select the Settings control panel, then go to the Bluetooth menu and make sure the Bluetooth option is turned on.
- From the nearby devices list select the Beats Pill, shortly afterwards it will then say "Paired" next to the name of the device.
- The Beats Pill and the iPad Air 2 are now ready to be used to play music. Tapping on the AirPlay icon in any iOS application that can play audio will bring up a list of devices where you’ll be able to toggle between headphones, the loudspeaker and a Beats Pill. When the Bluetooth speaker has been paired the LED will glow white.
- In the future you can turn on the Beats Pill speaker and it will automatically connect to the iPad Air 2 without needing to pair again, just turn both devices on and wait for the Bluetooth light to glow white. The Beats Pill can remember up to eight Bluetooth devices, each time it is turned on it will try to connect with the most recent.

- These instructions show you how to hook up an iPad Air 2 to a Beats Pill using a cable to play audio. First locate the headphone socket on the top right of the tablet.
- With the Beats Pill speaker turned off locate the IN port found at the rear of the speaker next to the OUT port.
- Connect the headphone socket on the iPad Air 2 to the IN on the Beats Pill port using a 3.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo male cable [4].
- From now on any sounds from an iPad Air 2the tablet will stop playing on the iPad speaker and play on a Beats Pill instead.
- After switching on the speaker you should be playing music from the iPad Air 2. You can now play audio on a Beats Pill from an iPad Air 2. [AD]
